1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Ummah Email ("the Service"), operated by Ummah Media Group LLC ("UMG," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Ummah Email is provided in conjunction with UmmahPass. By using the Service, you also agree to the UmmahPass Terms of Service, which govern your membership, billing, and account.
2. Description of Service
Ummah Email provides privacy-first email services for the Muslim community, including:
- Personal email addresses at the @ummah.email domain ("Screen Names")
- IMAP, SMTP, and JMAP email access
- CalDAV and CardDAV calendar/contacts
- Spam filtering and security features
The Service is currently in limited beta and is subject to change, modification, or discontinuation at any time.
3. Screen Names and Email Addresses
3a. Screen Names Are a Privilege
Your @ummah.email Screen Name (email address) is a privilege granted by UMG, not a right. Screen Names are assigned at UMG's sole discretion and are subject to availability.
3b. Right to Revoke
UMG reserves the right to revoke, reassign, withdraw, or modify any Screen Name at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Fraudulent or deceptive registration
- Impersonation of real people, organizations, or brands
- Violation of these Terms or the UmmahPass Terms of Service
- Inactivity or account dormancy
- Trademark or intellectual property disputes
- Operational or technical necessity
3c. No Resale or Transfer
Screen Names may not be sold, traded, transferred, or assigned to another person or entity without UMG's prior written consent. Any unauthorized transfer renders the Screen Name void.
3d. Dormancy Policy
If your UmmahPass Pro or Max membership lapses or is cancelled, your @ummah.email account enters dormancy:
- Incoming mail is held (not delivered) for up to 90 days
- Your Screen Name is reserved for 90 days from cancellation
- Reactivating your UmmahPass membership within 90 days restores full access
- After 90 days, your Screen Name may be released and reassigned
3e. Screen Name Guidelines
Screen Names must not:
- Impersonate another person, brand, or organization
- Contain profanity, hate speech, or offensive content
- Violate Islamic ethical standards as determined by UMG
- Infringe on trademarks or intellectual property
- Be misleading or deceptive
4. Membership Requirements
An active UmmahPass Pro ($5.55/month) or Max ($300+/year) membership is required to maintain an @ummah.email Screen Name. The email service is a benefit of paid membership, not a standalone product.
Membership billing, cancellation, and refund policies are governed by the UmmahPass Terms of Service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use Ummah Email to:
- Send spam, bulk unsolicited emails, or malware
- Engage in phishing, fraud, or social engineering
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any person
- Distribute content that violates Islamic ethical principles
- Circumvent security measures or abuse system resources
- Create multiple accounts or share account credentials
- Use automated tools to access the service without authorization
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund and forfeiture of your Screen Name.
6. Fraudulent Signups
UMG actively monitors for and investigates fraudulent account registrations. Fraudulent activity includes:
- Using stolen payment credentials
- Creating accounts with false identity information
- Registering Screen Names with intent to resell
- Circumventing invite code requirements
- Using bots or automated tools to reserve Screen Names
Fraudulent accounts will be terminated immediately. Associated Screen Names will be revoked. We reserve the right to report fraudulent activity to relevant authorities.
7. Privacy and Data
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Ummah Email is hosted on servers in Germany (EU), subject to GDPR protections.
- We do not read, scan, or analyze the content of your emails for advertising
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We retain server logs for security and abuse prevention only
- You may request data export or account deletion at any time
8. Service Availability
Ummah Email is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches beyond our reasonable control.
UMG reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UMG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your @ummah.email address or through the UmmahPass dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
